TEMPLE -
Temple firefighters brought about 40 kids toys Tuesday morning at the McLane Children's Hospital in Temple.
These kids and their parents are spending their holiday at the hospital, and both firefighters and parents agree this is a way to brighten up the day for everyone involved.
"Hopefully by receiving a toy from the firefighters and a friendly smile and a friendly face. Hopefully it'll make their day a little easier for the parents and the child," Temple firefighter Thomas Pechal said.
"It's just him and I here and it was really nice to have somebody come in and kind of do that for us. It's just," parent Kristin Nunley said. "I'm grateful, I'm really grateful"
The Temple Professional Firefighters Association Local Number 846 helped collect about 200 toys for the kids.
