HEWITT -

A McLennan County man is behind bars facing felony charges after he robbed a young woman and dragged her with his car.

Jordan Burns, 21, was arrested at 4:00 a.m. Monday in the 300 block of Applewood in Hewitt.

Hewitt Deputy Police Chief Tuck Saunders said the arrest stemmed from an incident that happened over the weekend.  Officers responded to a report of a robbery at 1001 Enterprise around 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Burns was in his car at the time when a young woman he knew walked up to him. Police say Burns grabbed at money in the woman's hands and drove away, dragging the woman for a short distance.  Deputy Chief Saunders said the woman received minor injuries.

A warrant for Aggravated Robbery was issued and Burns was arrested. He was booked in to the McLennan County Jail where he remains on $20 thousand bond.
