WACO -
Court officials in Waco have confirmed the next trial in the Spring Street murders will be moved to Georgetown. 19th District Court Judge Ralph Strother granted a change of venue motion to move Albert Love's trial to Georgetown in Williamson County.
Love's attorneys claimed he could not receive a fair trial in McLennan County.
Last month, Rickey Donnell Cummings was convicted and sent to death row for his role in the murders in March of last year at Waco's Lakewood Villas Apartments. Emotions were high in the courtroom packed with family of both the defendant and the victims.
17-year-old Tyus Sneed and 20-year-old Keenan Hubert were killed in that ambush shooting in March of 2011. Kennedy Hardway and Darvis Cummings are also charged in case.
McLennan County District Attorney Abel Reyna said his office did not oppose the change of venue in the interest of justice, which requires the defendant gets a fair trial.
