Local woman locked up in home during home invasion


A local woman was locked up in her home after two men forced their way in late Tuesday night. The incident happened in the 2400 block of Cleveland Ave about 11 p.m. when two man knocked on the woman's door, and asked to come in.

The victim said she thought she recognized one of two men who were standing at her door, and saw one of them was carrying a handgun. The suspects came in and said they wanted "her boyfriend's money."

The woman was not injured during the altercation, but she was locked up in the home and it took her several minutes to get out of the house to go get help. The Victim Services Unit was sent to assist the woman who was shaken up by the experience.

The boyfriend was not present at the time of the incident, and police aren't sure if anything was taken from the home. Police are still investigating the incident.
