Copperas Cove ISD investigating two more threats, detained ninth juvenile

Copperas Cove police is investigating two more Terroristic Threats made at Copperas Cove Junior High School on Monday and Tuesday. Students were not evacuated from the school when the threats were reported.

Authorities have also announced that they detained a juvenile responsible for two of six threats made at the Copperas Cove Junior High School.

Police responded to Copperas Cove Junior High school at 10:26 a.m. on Monday in reference to a bomb threat. No one has been detained for the incident and police say the case continues to be investigated.

Tuesday, police responded to the same school at 7:28 a.m. for another bomb threat made at the school. After an investigation, police detained a 14-year-old boy and charged him with Terroristic Threat.

Police later concluded that same suspect was responsible for the bomb threat reported at the same school on December 11, and charged him again with Terroristic Threat.

There has been 11 bomb threats reported to the Copperas Cove Independent School District over the past 15 days. Nine juveniles have been detained for six of the 11 bomb threat cases.

Crime Stoppers has increased the reward to $2,000 in cash for clues if the information provided leads to an arrest and prosecution.
