COPPERAS COVE -
Copperas Cove Independent School District's Board of Trustees will be holding a closed meeting Friday morning in response to the recent bomb threats at various campuses. The trustees plan on discussing deployment and implementation of security personnel and security measures.
Meanwhile, the school district is providing students tutorials off campus on Thursday and Friday at the Grace United Methodist Church. The services will be provided from 10 a.m. till noon then from 1 p.m. till 4 p.m.
Core teachers will be available for tutorials, counselors will be available from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and computers will be available to use. No lunch will be provided.
Students at Copperas Cove High School and SC Lee Junior High School will also have an opportunity to pick up their belongings from the schools.
Copperas Cove High School students will need to enter through the front entrance of the school to pick up belongings. They will be allowed to gather items on Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and at 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday only.
S.C. Lee Junior High School students will only be allowed to pick up belongings on Friday from noon to 3:30 p.m. Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian because they will not be allowed to enter the building alone. Staff members at the school will escort students throughout the building to retrieve their items.
