BRUCEVILLE-EDDY -
An 18-wheeler carrying an oversized load hit an overpass, and caused a traffic delay on Interstate 35 Wednesday afternoon.
Texas Department of Transportation's Ken Roberts said the semi-trailer truck was carrying a large fiberglass tank, and tried to drive under the FM 107 overpass. The load was too tall and struck the bridge.
The fiberglass tank was knocked off the trailer, and a considerable amount of debris was scattered on the highway. Traffic has been diverted from the interstate near Troy onto the southbound service road.
Roberts says it appears only cosmetic damage was done to the bridge and structurally it is expected to be ok.
