Store manager arrested in Family Dollar robbery case

TEMPLE, TX (KXXV) -

The store manager of a Family Dollar store in Temple was arrested Monday for allegedly conspiring to stage a robbery of the store.

22-year-old Carl Emmons Enderby told police Sunday morning that he exited the store to transport a bank deposit. He said an unknown male sitting in the employee's vehicle displayed a handgun and ordered him into the vehicle.

Enderby then said he was forced to drive the suspect away from the store until the suspect exited the vehicle near N. 13th Street and W. French Avenue and fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

After the General Investigations Unit reviewed the theft case they realized Enderby was lying and received a criminal complaint against Enderby for the theft offense.

Enderby is currently in the Bell County Jail with a bond was set at $75,000.
