McLennan County Commissioners select new Justice of the Peace

MCLENNAN COUNTY -

Pete Peterson has been selected by County Commissioners to replace the retiring Billy Martin as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 1, Place 2 in McLennan County. He will fulfill Martin's term through December of 2014.

Peterson is a former lawman, 38 years in law enforcement including 32 years as a DPS Sergeant.

County Judge Scott Felton said "his attention to detail and steadfast conviction of a days work for a days pay built a lot of confidence with the court". Peterson will take over Martin's seat sometime in the next week.
