Local man with multiple warrants arrested in burglary attempt

A 36-year-old McLennan County man is being held on numerous charges from multiple agencies after being caught by McLennan County deputies following a burglary Sunday morning.

Deputies were called to a storage facility in Elm Mott about 3 a.m. when a witness spotted suspicious activity in the 500 block of North Connally Dr. When deputies arrived, they found several trailers, being used as storage, had been opened, and they spotted a man inside one of the units.

As they drove up, the man fled on foot leaving his vehicle behind. Deputies chased him for several minutes, with the man running back and forth across I-35 at least once.

When officers got him into custody, deputies determined he was giving a false identification. Authorities identified the man as being Joseph Christopher Hall.

Officials learned that he had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest for theft and auto burglary. Hall was charged with failure to ID as a fugitive, evading arrest, and four counts of burglary.

The property stolen in the Elm Mott Storage burglary was all recovered.
