WACO -

Waco police have released the surveillance photos of the suspect who violently robbed and shot a convenience store employee on Sunday. The male suspect was involved in the attempted Capital Murder case where the store's manager at Snacks convenience store was wounded.

Two black males, one armed with a handgun, went into the store at 9:20 p.m. on Sunday in an attempt to rob it. The 48-year-old clerk was also armed with a firearm and exchanged gunfire with the suspects during the robbery.

The suspects then fled from the store, but later came back into the store and again exchanged gunfire with the clerk. The suspect and the clerk had a struggle over the weapons, and the clerk was assaulted in the head and face by the suspect and his weapon. The suspect was able to steal the victim's gun and undetermined amount of cash before fleeing from the store a second time.

The clerk had a gunshot wound to his leg, and was taken by ETMC to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect should call Detective Charlotte Matthews at 254-750-7615, or can call Crimestoppers at 254-753-HELP.
