KILLEEN -

Killeen Police are investigating and searching for the suspect responsible for an early Thursday morning homicide. Officers responded to a call at 2:26 a.m. after shots were fired at 1130 Royal Crest Drive.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the 31-year-old victim and another male were inside the residence when the shots were fired. A female, who was upstairs, came down to find the victim, her boyfriend, suffering from gunshot wounds and the other male gone from the residence.

The victim was immediately transported to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 4:45am.  An autopsy has been ordered to be performed at the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas. His name has been withheld pending the notification of his next of kin.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this homicide to contact the Bell County Crime Stoppers at 526-TIPS (8477)
