KILLEEN -
An Arizona man has been arrested and brought back to Texas for his connection to a 5-year-old Killeen child injury case. Mitchell Daniel Bahe came into contact with a police officer in Farmington, New Mexico. The officer had determined that there was the outstanding arrest warrant for Bahe.
The original incident was reported in April 2007 when police were called to a Killeen home on a report that a 4-month-old child was not breathing. The child was resuscitated, but had sustained head injuries.
As treatment of the child continued and the investigation remained open, it was later determined that the injuries were not consistent with Bahe's testimony. He had told officers the child squirmed out of his hands and fell onto a carpet floor.
The child had been determined to be permanently disabled. An arrest warrant for Bahe had been obtained in 2009, but Bahe had left the area. Upon his arrest Bahe was transported back to Texas and is in the Bell County Jail.
