Posted:
KILLEEN -

Killeen Police have identified the man who was hit by two cars early Sunday morning. Richard J. Taylor of Killeen and another man were trying to cross the northbound lanes of S. State highway 195 at 1:10 a.m.

The other man was able to safely get across, but Taylor was hit by a white, single cab pickup truck. The driver of the truck continued driving northbound and did not stop.

A 2013 Nissan Sentra was traveling behind the pickup, and ran over Taylor. The driver of the Nissan stayed on scene and was identified by officers.

Police found Taylor lying in the inside lane of the road. He was pronounced dead at 1:58 a.m. and an autopsy was ordered by Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin.

Police are still searching for the driver of the white truck. If you have any information about the truck or the driver please call the Bell County Crime Stoppers at 254-526-TIPS (8477) or you can text BELLCO with your tip to 274637.
