LORENA -
A Central Texas woman has been charged for a December wreck that killed her nine-year-old daughter. Mirelia Meza is accused of rigging a home-made trailer hitch that caused a four car pile-up on Interstate 35 in Lorena.
Her daughter Isabelle was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Investigators also found that Meza was driving without a valid license.
She was later arrested at the Mexican border, trying to re-enter the United States. Meza will spend the next five years in prison, followed by ten years probation for two felony counts of injury to a child.
