Fort Hood will soon be getting a new commander. Major General Mark Milley was approved Thursday by Texas Senator John Cornyn and the Armed Services Committee for the position.
Milley was nominated by the White House to succeed Lt. General Donald Campbell on post. The promotion will now go before the full Senate.
The move Thursday was part of a large group of department of defense recommendations that were approved.
