The Waco Humane Society will soon be run by the city of Waco. Wednesday night the Humane Society board approved a contract that will allow the city to provide food and shelter for the animals for 30 days.
Humane society employees will still work to adopt and return stray animals to pet owners. The contract is set to begin Friday.
