LORENA -
A power outage caused the fire alarm to go off at Lorena High School Wednesday morning and forced students and faculty to evacuate the building.
An ONCOR spokesman referred to the incident as a "line fault" that caused a power outage, and affected a large portion of the town of Lorena including the campuses of the Lorena Independent School District shortly before 8 a.m.
At the time of the outage, the sudden drop in power caused a fire alarm to turn on at Lorena High School. Authorities say there was no fire present and the incident was a false alarm even though students and faculty did evacuate from the building.
Power has since been restored to most customers in Lorena.
