WOODWAY -
A man and woman have been arrested on drug charges after they were stopped by police for speeding Wednesday afternoon in Woodway.
Woodway police say that Watt Williams III of Lacy Lakeview was seen driving 61 mile per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone on the 6800 block of South Woodway Dr. During the traffic stop police determined that Williams had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Bellmead. Police then asked for permission to search the vehicle.
The car's owner was the passenger, Deborah Denise Lefever of Bellmead, granted authorities permission to search the vehicle.
Police found a quantity of hydrocodone, and they called in a drug sniffing K-9 to the scene to search the rest of the car. K-9 units found a meth pipe under one seat, and a small lunchbox containing marijuana and more hydrocodone.
Williams and Lefever were transported to the McLennan County Jail.
