WACO, Texas – Former Baylor quarterback and 2011 Heisman Trophy winner, Robert Griffin III, has been honored as one of 10 former student-athletes to receive the Today's Top 10 Award, announced by the NCAA Honors Committee on Thursday.
The NCAA Today's Top 10 Award recognizes student-athletes who completed their athletic eligibility during the 2011-12 academic year for their success on the fields and courts, in the classroom, and in the community. Award recipients will be recognized at the Honors Celebration on Jan. 18 during the NCAA Convention in Grapevine, Texas.
Griffin III lifted the Baylor football program to new heights and became an ambassador of the University during his four years in Waco. He was awarded the program's first Heisman Trophy and drafted second overall in the 2012 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins.
