One arrested, another on the run after high speed chase

KILLEEN -

A high speed chase has lead to the arrest of one woman, but her male accomplice is still at large after he robbed a women Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded to the 900 W. Central Texas Expressway where a female had just been robbed by a male suspect. Before arriving to the scene, a witness called and said they were behind a black Dodge Charger with the suspects inside the vehicle.

Officers found the Dodge Charger at the intersection of Central Texas Expressway and Stan Schlueter and saw it was occupied by a female driver and a male passenger. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver drove off.

The high speed pursuit continued west on Central Texas Expressway and continued north on to W.S. Young.  The driver then turned west on to Grandon Drive, where the vehicle collided with two other vehicles.

After the collision, the driver then spun out of control, and the vehicle eventually hit a tree and a brick mailbox The black male passenger jumped out of the vehicle and fled on foot through a neighborhood. He was last scene wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

The 31-year-old female driver was taken into custody and transported to the Killeen City Jail.

The property taken during the robbery was found and returned to the victim.  There were no injuries reported caused by the pursuit or by any of the crashes. Anyone with information about the male suspect or robbery should contact Crime Stoppers at 526-8477.
