KILLEEN -
Killeen Police are searching for four suspects involved in a Felony Theft that occurred on Monday night at 2500 S.W.S. Young Dr. A victim lost more than $5,000 when they unknowingly bought 35 fake iPads.
According to police two black males and two white females made contact with the victim and offered to sell them an iPad. The suspects demonstrated the iPads to the victim and offered to sell them one for $350.
The suspects then offered the victim a deal that if they bought the entire box of 35 iPads then they would sell the allotment to them for a $5,600. The victim accepted their offer, and was given two large boxes with sealed iPad boxes inside.
The suspects then left the scene and were last seen entering a white 2002-2004 Chevy Tahoe. When the victim opened the boxes they discovered that each box contained ceramic tiles that were covered with a picture of an iPad home screen in place of an actual iPad.
The Killeen Police Department is asking anyone who is approached by a person selling iPads or electronics to contact them immediately at 526-TIPS (4877) or go online to www.killeencrimestoppers.com.
