WOODWAY -
Woodway police arrest a man after they received a call at approximately 2:00 a.m. concerning a family violence incident.
Officers responded to a residence at 8288 Teakwood Dr where Paul Garcia, 23, refused to come out of the home. Police had information to believe that the suspect hiding inside the home had numerous weapons on the property.
Garcia initially was not cooperative with officers that were on the scene. The officers then activated the special response team and negotiated a surrender with the assistance of Garcia's attorney.
Police arrested Garcia without incident and he was transported to the McLennan County Jail on charges of Assault - Family Violence. Authorities also found numerous handguns and rifles at the home, but police said there was no indication that Garcia had accessed any of the weapons during the incident.
