Two men have been arrested for beating and robbing a man on the suspension bridge in downtown Waco Tuesday night.
Police say a 51-year-old man was approached by two others who claimed he owed money to them. The suspects demanded the money, but victim claimed he didn't have any. The suspects then punched the victim in the head and stole his backpack and sleeping bag, and then proceeded to across the river on the suspension bridge.
Police immediately stopped the two suspects and took them into custody. Eric Eugene Wiley, 46, and Willie Stanley Jr., 60, were charged with robbery. Stanley is also being held on a parole violation charge. The victim is in good condition.
