Highway 95 shut down due to 18-wheeler accident

The Texas Department of Public Safety dispatch confirmed two 18-wheelers collided on Highway 95 just north of Holland Monday morning.

The trucks had a head on collision that destroyed one vehicle and heavily damaged the other.

Multiple fire departments were dispatched to the scene, where one of the trucks caught on fire. Both drivers were able to get out of their vehicles and walk around, but one driver was transported to Scott & White Hospital with minor injuries.

Part of Highway 95 in Bell County was shut down due to the large amount of debris and fuel that was on the road.  The Temple Fire Department hazmat crew and a commercial remediation company were sent out to the scene to clean up diesel fuel that spilled in the area.

One truck was transporting limestone, and has forced clean up crews to unload the limestone before the truck can be removed.
