Local man charged with electricity theft

WACO -

A 46-year-old local man has been arrested on charges of stealing electricity. Waco police were contacted by ONCOR after they had checked out a home at 914 Ross Ave.

Police had received a tip that their meter had been bypassed. Detectives followed up and received a warrant for Ismael Ortega Reyes who has been arrested and taken to the McLennan County Jail.

Reyes has been charged with Criminal Mischief & Tampering with an Electric Service, and is also being held on an immigration detainer.
