WACO -
A motorcyclist is recovering after a driver of a vehicle tried to crash into him Wednesday morning near Gholson Rd. and Lake Shore Dr.
The 26-year-old victim was riding a 2000 model Ducati motorcycle, and told police that when he was stopped at a traffic light a driver of a 2001 Mercedes pulled alongside him and asked him to race.
The victim told police he was not interested in racing and ignored the other driver's request. As the pair pulled away from the light, the victim said the driver of the Mercedes, Thien Quoc Nguyen, began driving erratically.
Nguyen pulled in front of the motorcyclist and slammed on his brakes. As the victim took evasive action, the bike went down and the victim was injured. He was taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center for treatment.
Police found several witnesses who were able to help identify the car and driver. Police arrested Nguyen and charged him with Aggravated Assault.
