KILLEEN - A shooting in Killeen leaves one man dead, while the rest of the case is being investigated by police. The incident occurred at an apartment at 3203 Hereford Ln. around 11:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Some neighbors upstairs say they heard shots ring out, and when they came downstairs they found a man dead.
Officers received a phone call telling them someone had been shot at the apartment. When they arrived they found 24-year-old Latternace Deshawn Newsome dead inside the living room.
After a police investigation they said the victim was visiting the apartment when he and another male became involved in a verbal altercation. The altercation then turned physical and the male shot the victim and fled the apartment.
