BELL COUNTY - A Bell County man who scammed people out of thousands of dollars was sentenced to seven years in prison on Tuesday.
31-year-old Johnathan Barton was indicted on four separate theft cases. Barton posed as a traveling meat salesman, and he took people's money for a meat order he would never deliver to them.
Barton pled guilty to stealing more than $8,000 from people in both Killeen and Copperas Cove over the last two years.
