DALLAS - A Dallas woman will be sentenced on Monday after acknowledging she beat her 2-year-old daughter then glued her hands to a wall. Elizabeth Escalona pled guilty on July 12 to injury to a child, and she faces the possibility of life in prison.
According to the toddler's siblings, Escalona kicked the girl in the stomach repeatedly and hit her with different objects before gluing her hands to the wall. The toddler was in a coma for two days after the incident. The girl and her siblings were then taken into state custody.
Dallas police said Escalona's motivation for her behavior was because she was mad about potty training problems.
