SAN ANTONIO - Services for a Texas Department of Public Safety officer who collapsed and died during a physical readiness test will be held Tuesday in the Dallas area.
DPS officials say Sgt. Paul Hernandez died Thursday in San Antonio. The 67-year-old highway patrol officer was stationed in nearby Universal City, and had been working for the DPS for nearly 36 years.
Hernandez's cause of death is currently unknown. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Rowlett United Methodist Church and his burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Lavon.
DPS says donations in memory of Hernandez may be made to the American Heart Association.
