PrivatBank presented the revolutionary technology of contactless payment -"killer NFC". As was reported at the Bank, the new technology is based on the use of QR codes and its implementation does not require capital investment from both banks and customers and businesses.
"The introduction of contact less payment NFC standard requires banks and retail multimillion-dollar investment and extraordinary in the certification of software and hardware replacement, therefore we are skeptical about the prospects for its development. The new contact less technology based on optical interface-camera smartphone-qr codes, enable trade and banks not only instantaneous launch contactless payments on existing commercial equipment, but also to reduce the costs and risks to accept payments, and customers-make the process pay for purchases with pleasure" - said PrivatBank's Deputy Chairman of the Board Alexander Vityaz.
The Bank noted that tech QR-payments not only solves problems of contactless payment in the physical world, but also is used for identification and payment in e-commerce.
"25 September non-contact input on QR codes started in Privatbank ATMs in Ukraine , privat24 and liqpay. In the process of connecting the ATM network in Russia, Georgia, Latvia, Cyprus, Italy and Portugal" - said Alexander Vityaz.
The presentation of this unique technology was held in the IV International Conference "electronic money cards and payments 2012", which opens on October 4 in Moscow.
