Riot Controlled By County-Wide Law Enforcement

MARLIN - A large fight in Marlin on Wednesday evening required county-wide assistance from officers in the surrounding areas.The Marlin Police Department received a call at 5:30 p.m. about a large group of youth that were fighting and throwing sticks and bricks at each other at 400 Park St.

When police arrived on the scene they found about 20 people fighting, yelling, and making threats. Numerous people had cuts and abrasions, one person was treated and transported by EMS to Falls Community Hospital, and another person went to the same hospital by personal car.

Due to the vast size of the altercation, Marlin police called county-wide assistance to handle the riot. Units from Falls County Sheriff's Department, Department of Public Safety, Lott Police Department, Rosebud Police Department, Precinct 2 Constable Marion Humphrey, Precinct 3 Constable Richard Aleman and the Falls County District Attorney's Investigator were called to assist.

Officers determined that the fight quickly turned into a large uncontrollable gathering. The large fight was classified as a riot by the Marlin Police Department and arrests were made for Riot Participation. Individuals that weren't arrested on the scene will be apprehended soon on warrants of arrest.
