Buddhist Community Tries To Recover After Fire

By John Elizondo

BELL COUNTY - A fire erupted in a storage shed near a Buddhist temple along Highway 195 and Briggs Rd. in Bell County.

In the shed there were nearly a dozen prized statues from Thailand worth more than $100,000. Community leader, Ron Thaxton, said the community is relying on their religion to help them get through this hard time.

"Yea we hurting," Thaxton said. "What can we do? We have to just rebuild."

No one was hurt in the fire. ATF agents are looking into what started the fire, but for now they believe the fire was accidental.
