Waco PD Says Mobile Home Fire Was Accidental

WACO - The Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences have ruled the death of a family of three to be accidental. On February 16, a mother, her young daughter and her infant baby died when their mobile home burst into flames at 6300 N. 19th St.

Waco Police say neighbors rescued a third child from the flames.  The two-year-old boy was flown to a burn center in Dallas and received treatment in the hospital.

Neighbor Bobby Cale saved the two-year-old when he ran through a door and into a side bedroom. The child was the only person he could find in the fiery room.

Fire Chief Don Yeager told News Channel 25 three of his firefighters who were part of the initial "attack and rescue" crew were injured.   He said they were wearing protective gear, but the fire was so intense their gear was severely damaged and they had to be taken to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Yeager said they were treated and then released.

Waco Police Department has officially closed the case and will remain close pending any further information, however, the Waco Fire Department is still continuing its investigation.
