WACO - The Humane Society is seeing several empty kennels as adoptions rates soared at the end of September. Works say a total of 47 dogs were adopted on Saturday and the adoption workers were able to raise $600 in donations.
On September 26 the Humane Society announced its plan offer all its large animals for adoption. Each animal could be adopted for $10. The sale was due to the large amount of big dogs that the shelter had taken in.
The shot, spay and neuter fees were included in the $10 adoption fee.
Earlier in September the city of Waco decided to continue their existing operations agreement with the Humane Society of Central Texas for the next two months. The additional time allowed the society to find more animals homes.
