WACO - A former Baylor Basketball player pled guilty Thursday to trying to extort money from Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III.

According to papers from federal court, Richard Hurd contacted one of Griffin's agents and demanded a $1,000,000 cash or he would release information to the media that would harm Griffin's reputation.

Griffin's agent contacted authorities, who arranged for Hurd to be offered $120,000 in exchange for his signing of a non-disclosure agreement. After signing the agreement and receiving the money, Hurd was arrested.

Hurd faces up to five years in federal prison on two extortion-related charges. His sentencing is set for November 21st.
