WACO - A local man is facing four charges of kidnapping and another count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after being arrested for an incident between his wife and her three kids.
Early morning of September 19th, police got a call from 1100 Brown Ave. saying the neighbors of a home thought a woman living in the house nearby was being assaulted. When police arrived, no one was there, but the neighbors told the officers that a man had forced the woman and three kids into a car and left.
Officers patrolled around the house through the night, but were never saw anyone inside.
Later in the morning, officers received a call from the victim saying they were back at the house and the man accused of assaulting her was in the home asleep. Officers arrested Cozy Bronshae Washington on charges of assault family violence.
After Washington was in jail, a detective working on the case determined that the woman and three children had been forced into the car and were driven around until the man thought police were gone. The man is also being accused of holding a hammer to the woman's head saying he would kill her if she made a sound to let anyone know they were there.
