BELLMEAD - A 17-year-old girl is in McLennan County Jail after she tried to fight a Bellmead police officers.
Police were sent to 3200 Scroggins after they received a disturbance call on Tuesday. D'Amber Childress was arguing with her mother when police arrived on the scene. Officers attempted to speak with her, but Childress began pouring liquids out of a bottle on the floor.
Police then tried to restrain Childress, but she swung a closed fist at the face of one of the officers. As she was being handcuffed she continued to fight the police and resist arrest.
Childress is being charged with assault on a public servant, assault family violence, and resisting arrest. Her bond has been set at $7,000.
