COPPERAS COVE - A Coryell County man was arrested Monday and is now facing charges for assaulting a woman and threatening her life.
Copperas Cove Police responded to a domestic disturbance on North Drive Sunday and when they arrived at the scene they learned Richard Garner had been fighting with a woman.
Authorities believe the argument started over a text messaged the woman had received. The argument escalated to the point that Garner allegedly pointed a gun at the woman's head.
Police say Garner then ran out the back door and tossed away the gun.
