TEMPLE - A Temple man is in jail after breaking into a home and then fleeing from police. Authorities say Ruben Vasek broke into a house on John Paul Dr. last Friday morning.
Officers nearby suspected suspicious activity when they saw Vasek's car speeding away from the home. When they pulled Vasek over they tried to arrest him, but Vasek took off running.
An officer and a police dog eventually caught up with Vasek a block away. He's now in the Bell County Jail charged with attempted burglary of a habitation and evading arrest.
