UPDATE: Fort Hood officials have announced that Pfc. Isaac Lawrence Young, 22, died as a result of a gunshot wound.

KILLEEN - A Fort Hood Soldier is in Bell County Jail for his involvement with the death of a fellow soldier.

27-year-old Patrick Myers has been charged with manslaughter after he allegedly shot his friend in the head. Police say Myers and some friends were drinking and watching a football game in a home at 2800 Cantabrian Dr. on Sunday night.

An arrest affidavit says Myers pointed a gun at the victim's head to scare him and stop his hiccups. Myers had allegedly thought the gun had dummy rounds when he discharged the gun . The 22-year-old victim was shot in the face.

He was airlifted to Scott and White Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Carroll Smith of the Killeen Police Department said, "weapons are nothing to be played with, especially handguns and when that happens it doesn't come out good. So unfortunately somebody lost their life over this."

Myers is currently being held at the Bell County Jail on $1,000,000 bond.
