FORT HOOD - Major Nidal M. Hasan was released earlier this morning from Carl R. Darnal Medical Center after being admitted  on Saturday. He has now returned to the Bell County Jail in Belton, Texas.

Hasan is being accused of shooting 13 people at Fort Hood back in 2009.

On Friday, the Army Criminal Court of Appeals issued a stay in the trial, after the defense filed two appeals to determine if the federal law known as the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) allows Hasan to keep his beard during his court martial.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) prohibits the release of any additional health information.
