KOUNTZE - Texas Association of School Boards notified the Kountze Independent School District this week that cheerleaders are not allowed to put Bible verses on banners for high school football games.
Kountze ISD superintendent, Kevin Weldon, was informed by the Freedom from Religion Foundation that a resident complained about the signs.
The superintendent declared that student groups are not allowed to display religious signs at school-sponsored events, including break-through banners at football games.
