KILLEEN - KISD hosted their 7th Annual Freedom Walk Tuesday, at the Killeen High School Main Gymnasium.
The students, staff and members of the community gathered to honor the lives that were lost on September 11, 2001, and also honored our local First Responders and Fort Hood soldiers.
More than 200 wounded warriors and staff from the Fort Hood Warrior Transition Brigade, as well as 1st CAV soldiers participated in the annual walk.
The Warrior Transition Brigade, which stood up in 2008, provides command and control, primary care, and case management for service members receiving treatment for wounds suffered while deployed in the War on Terror. The unit works to promote their timely return to the force, or transition to civilian life.
