Three more cases of West Nile in McLennan County

McLENNAN COUNTY - Three new cases of West Nile Virus were confirmed in McLennan County over the weekend.  They're the first ones in September, and raise the total number of cases in the county to 37.

One of those people infected died from the virus.

The McLennan County Health District has not released the zip codes for the three new cases.  The previous 34 cases came from the following areas:

76704 (3 cases), 76705 (5 cases), 76706 (4 cases), 76707 (4 cases), 76708 (6 cases), 76710 (4 cases), 76711 (2 cases), 76712 (1 case), 76657 (1 case), 76624 (3 cases).

One case was associated with a box number that did not indicate a location.

The City of Waco Information line has a recorded message with information on West Nile Virus and guidance on how to protect against mosquitoes.  The number is 254-750-5606.
