KILLEEN - Killeen Police have arrested a murder suspect wanted out of Bartlett.

Everett Tyrone Johnson, 43, is accused of fatally stabbing Joseph Garza, 26.

Deputies said Johnson and Garza got into an altercation Sunday night.  It happened right outside Garza's home on Lucy Street in Bartlett, located about 20 miles south of Temple.

Williamson County Sheriff's Office said Johnson had ties to both Waco and Killeen.

Around 1 a.m. Tuesday, Killeen police were able to put an end to that search.  They found him in the 300 block of S. 10th Street.

Apparently, Johnson was staying with a family member.  One of his cousin's said he was not running from police, rather he was in town to visit.  She also said Johnson is not a murderer.  She said he was fighting in self-defense after being struck in the head with a two-by-four.

Johnson will be transferred to Williamson County Jail later on today. Sheriff's Deputies have charged him with murder.
