High school football coach arrested

By: Chris Cheng

LOMETA – Lometa High School's head football coach was taken into custody, Friday, after a warrant for his arrest was issued earlier this week.

On Wednesday, the Lampasas county Sheriff's Office received a report that said 51-year-old Wendell Earl Bradley had been exchanging sexually explicit text messages with several students who attend the Lometa High School.

Bradley is also listed at the girl's basketball coach and there is no word whether any of the players were involved in the allegations.

A subsequent investigation revealed probable cause to obtain warrants for his arrest for two counts of improper relationship between educator and student and one count of online solicitation of a minor.

The Lampasas County Sheriff's Office was working with other state and local law enforcement agencies, on this case and Bradley was eventually caught by the Henderson County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said this is still an ongoing investigation.
