HARKER HEIGHTS - It's the third time a suspicious fire has been started in a Bell County community, and Harker Heights fire officials are classifying it as arson.
"It was like big flames," resident Patrick Morris said. "Higher than the trees! There was like ashes falling over here on these other trees and everybody was over here kind of watching it."
A home in the 100 block of E. Ball Road was set on fire Wednesday night.
Firefighters said they're glad no one lives at that home, because by the time they got there it was completely engulfed in flames. They said the fire was shooting through all of the doors and windows.
It's considered a complete loss.
The fire began spreading to a house next door and damaged the exterior.
"They were able to stop the fire from spreading, and kept that house from catching fire," Fire Chief Jack Collier said.
Because of the growing number of suspicious fires in a two week span, officials are pulling in several different agencies from across the area to investigate.
If you have any information about these incidents, call Harker Heights Police.
