KILLEEN- A Killeen man was shot and killed Sunday, and police have arrested his wife.
The shooting happened around 4:00 p.m. in the 2500 block of Wiley Dr., and police say their 9-year-old son was inside the home during the time of the incident.
Killeen Police said an argument led up to the shooting, and, when officers arrived, they found 38-year-old Jose Luis Mateo suffering from one gunshot wound to his chest. Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin pronounced him dead less than an hour later and ordered an autopsy to be performed in Dallas.
Officers arrested the victim's wife, Vilmarie Mateo, 36, and charged her with murder. On Monday evening, she was transferred to the Bell County Jail.
Police released the boy to the care of his relatives. He was not injured during the shooting.
